Sometimes one must have the courage to ask. You never know what the result is going to be until you ask. How bad could it be? You do not receive an answer that you expect? You get laughed off? At least you have given your best shot, and you do not lose anything in the process.
In fact, most people would be more than glad to assist you, if you would put your shyness aside for a moment and just ask.
Today I manage to sum up the courage to ask a very high-ranking manager for some feedback and assistance. I am glad I did: I probably just had the best conversation in my company, ever.
